with these it really is worth getting them checked over by someone in the know. if they're not set up right then they will go bang over time. not cheap to rebuild either. any of the above should easily be able to sort you out fella

had an intercooler pipe come off once, engine would only idle,
cut out if you tried to accelerate, so - yes it will affect it

Does it feel like you're hitting a brick wall?

Has the ECU been remapped? a standard ECU runs at around 1.1 Bar, and you're getting 1.25bar so could be hitting the fuel cut limit.

Boost controllers can be dangerous things if not set up correctly

If you spent £4.5k on a rebuild who refitted the engine & did the front mount so that the fan could hit the pipe? Same one that may or may not have fitted the boost controller properly?

To spend that amount on a rebuild & then chance it with hit & miss fitting of other bits is a bit risky to say the least.

To avoid a major failure of your new engine you need to back off the loud pedal & get it to someone that knows. Sooner rather than later.

AS i said, iv not spent a penny on the car, except the boost controller,
the car was done before me, roger clarke, and TDI lakeside thurrock, has new cams and crank pistons the lot and a rolling road report, all i wanted the boost controller for was to time the turbo, and check volts etc,,,,
the pipe touching the radiator fan is cos the guy that fitted the turbo timer moved all the pipes and cocked it up,,
i dont drive mad any way cos of my JOB,,,,,,,,,

guy that fitted timer has done a runner, lol

You're running too much boost! you should get someone like Mocom to check it out so it runs at safe levels

^ What he says ^

Too much boost will wreck all those expensive bits that RCM fitted. Get it sorted & then you may be able to safely catch up with your runner & get a refund on the timer.

If you just bought the car, do yourself a big favour.

get a cambelt change and service, and then get the problems diagnosed at the same time.

might save you £4,500 so its money well spent IMHO

Good luck

Wink update

Hi guys back in uk,
Found ot what problem was, the **** who put on the air filter didnt realise that the airfilter instructions were still in the filter, it was blocking the pipe, as of the too much boost, the altitude meter was not set and was giving a reading of 4 psi too much, iv got the altitude thing re set to 0000 on tickover, now the boost reading i get is PEAK 9.7psi is that ok???
as for the cam belt, the car is still running in really appreciate your comments,, guys,, cars running lovely

Thats worrying, Leaving the instruction in the air filter,,,,I'd question his skills and never use him again, I'm amazed it didnt suck it through the turbo inlet,

Just realised it an early sti so will have a mesh on the maf
