Oh yes ... quite a result
The week (actually the fortnight) has been very long and very stressful but there has been lots of laughs too. Without the help of Zen Performance, Mark at Lateral and lots of other people that volunteered to help, I would simply have not been there - simple as. I owe then a lot (literally in some cases )
Yesterday I was expecting there to be issues with a new engine that had only done 50 miles on before the day. It had been shown over 2 bar of boost during that period and loved it so I was confident about the mechanical side but still not fully debugged stuff.
Warmup did the debugging with a couple of hoses popping off but once they were sorted I was on maximum attack from then.
I could not believe it when I popped in a 1.04.7 in my first lap in practice (that was my optimistic target for the day time wise) and it didnt even feel like I was trying. Ended with a 1.03.7 and P1 in that session.
Quali next and again the time came easy when I could find the gaps in the traffic (this was very trickey) and finished that with P1 with 1.03.6 and with the new points system this year I got 50 points for this position - fantastic !
More of the same for the final but traffic was a nightmare still with so many cars out there. 1.03.4 was the first lap out til traffic spoiled a lap. Shane popped in a 1.02.99 to just pip me so I was back out there again on a hot lap but it wasnt to be when they red flagged the session halfway through that lap.
Over the moon with the result and to pick up another fastest Subaru trophy
Great support guys and thank you for your comments/wishes.
