Edinburgh marathon
Evening all, just a quick post to let you all know I completed the marathon in Edinburgh yesterday in a PB(personal best) time of 3:37:18. It was foooookin hot yesterday and there was no shade to hide or breeze to cool you down, I would use the word oppresive to explain the conditions we faced.
I was 1151st out of over 15,000 so am happy with the run and it was good to smash the time I ran in London 5 weeeks ago.
On the pink shirt front i got some photos of it in some random places so when i've uploaded them i'll start a "random photo of your pink shirt" thread.
Thanks to those of you that have sponsored me already, if you would like to do so it's not too late. visit www.forgottenone.co.uk and follow the links.
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
Andy

Well done mate. Cracking time
A couple of the lads from work went up there to compete. One was determined to do a sub 4 hour. I'll be speaking to them tomorrow to find out how they managed

I spoke to my mates today. The one who wanted to do it sub 4 hours actually came in just over 5, the 2nd came in 5.45. The 2nd guy has done several marathons in the past, he said it was the hardest one he's ever done. So big respect to you once again.
Apparently they had a really hard time trying to get back to the City centre after the race. So much so they flagged down some old boy and asked him for a lift. The kindly old man obliged and dropped them back at the hotel

Adidas, glad to hear they managed to get round in one piece. I'm hearing that water stations had run out of water so some people ran 9miles in over 27degrees without water which is not good.
There were buses laid on to get you from the finish to the city, the buses were carrying spectators aswell so it was pot luck to get a seat. Having finished quickly it mean't I could get out of there before the main crowds wanted to leave. I didn't hang around once i'd finished, just grabbed my stuff and ran to get out of there.

I didn't realise the water was stolen, i thought they had just run out!!! There were people with hoses showering the runners aswell which was refreshing.
Enter bib number 216 if you fancy a giggle
I did some filming for Mind today, if you look at my site www.forgottenone.co.uk and visit the LDN/EDi photos page to see the shoot taking place
How are you friends feeling now? Don't tell them i've done 3 runs since Sunday.
