Last time I bought Petrol I asked the woman in Tesco's if their price board was broken, as the petrol hadn't gone up for a couple of days.
She wasn't that impressed
Probably get some more protests kicking of again soon

About time Labour got to grips with real life, and maybe they wouldnt be in the sh!! they are now!!!!
And why oh why is there no governing body for the fuel companies, there is for most other things. But the fuel companies are getting away with murder as there is noone to keep an eye on them, and give them a slap for also ripping everyone off!!!
will get off my soap box now!!! lol

I agree 110% - if it were in France, Spain or the US the public would bring the country to a standstill, yet here, as you say, we, the easy target, and taxed for everything, and just put up with it.
I do think the EU elections have shocked Labour, with BNP even winning a couple of seats..............................
I think the country is on it's knees & can't really see how it will recover................. especially in time to pay for the Olympics!!

Paid 107.9 a litre for Tesco's 99RON at Colchester yesterday
Word of caution for those of you having a pop at Labour, the sliding scale the Tories propose would mean we're paying slightly less for petrol now but we would have been paying more when the prices were lower....

Without getting too political
Fact 1: Regardless of political persuasion Labour inherited the strongest ecconomy in our history when elected and still screwed us all rotten.
Fact 2: Gordon has begged, borrowed or sold all our assets to hide his incompetance for years but now due to an unlikely win at the last election it's all coming back to haunt him.
We should have had our recession 4-5yrs ago but because of the ecconomy being kept artificially afloat we are now in a far greater pickle than we should have been.
Either way the bottom line is things will be getting worse before they get any better and oil is one commodity that sure isnt going to get any cheaper now

Petrol prices in the UK suck, In Saudi at the moment, granted they there Highest octain fuel is only 95 , but it's dirt cheap
91 Octain -> 0.45 SAR -> 8p per litre
95 Ocatin -> 0.60 SAR -> 10p per litre
The driver filled up some dodgy American Sadan, which cost about him £5, and that was from near empty.....
So the UK public are being ripped off just a tad

From what I remember when I worked in fuels research, it cost approximately 30p per litre for a refinery to make the fuel, and it was sold at the pumps at the time for about 70p per litre. Refining costs will have gone up, so has crude (although it does fluctuate a lot) so say it now costs 40p per litre. If the oil companies make 10p a litre profit (that is all that is needed.....most of their profits come from upstream crude marketing and bulk selling). The other 50p+ is split between the garage owner (typically 2-8p per litre) and the rest is tax. No other government can get away with it, but we brits are too scared to cause a scene that we accept it. I haven't been working in fuels research/refining for a while, but I won't be too far away.
