Default Engine bay Temperature - How do I reduce it

Sensible question no pi$$ taking (Dazza, MarkB4, Anyone associated with Mr clutch to name few )

Anyway, noticed recently just how hot it seems to get under the bonnet even when not driving enthusiastically so what can I do to try and reduce these temps?

Cold air ducting? would heat wrapping turbo and up/down pipes help?

or any other suggestions.

Cheers
David

Yup wrap the up and down pipes for starters or get them cermaic coated. You could look at putting a blob eye sti scoop on to channel more air in and zero sports do a slam pannel air dam that helps get the temps down. You could also adpot the old rs boys trick of putting block between the bonnet and it's hinges to raise it up a little.

Ceramic coat headers upipe and turbo, thats all you need to do.

I never ever once had issues with under hood temps

could always have some louvres cut in. it can look really good or really quite bad. but a few tastefully placed could work well.

Try giving it a service too, coolant and oil. Mine felt very warm around engine bay even when not driving hard, so I serviced it, now its cool. Unless I go for a hard drive, but thats to be expected, lol.

Ouch all the best for a speedy recovery fella

told the seller of the black one to jog on. Kept chasing me for the money and saying that he had others willing to pay more. I've seen it's still up for sale though so to him

going to look at another scoob on saturday and if it's all ok i'll be driving it home already spoken to moley too

Thank's for the advice guys, think I will go the ceramic coating route. Already got the zero sports slam panel, may look for a STi7 scoop as I don't like the blob ones on a bug.

Just need to get another up, down and centre pipe to get coated, save having the car of the road.
