Still only the one camera as before though I would imagine ..... So after the camera is passed, time to boot it again !
I wish they would just straighten out the kink in the bloody road, rather than try and make more revenue out of their lack of making the road better !!! ...... Or re-instate the roundabout !

I'm a bit worried that i went past the one London-bound too fast on Friday too
Tonight i could easily have passed the Southend-bound one at 60mph+. ****

Hi, n00b here, came across this thread via a google search.
Phil - any result from the incident?
I only ask as I've just discovered myself only 1/2 hour ago that the ruddy cameras are working again, a flash being my first hint.
Annoyed is an understatement.

I got nicked by the london bound camera here 2 years ago and fined with 3 points. I see that they have redrawn the road markings since re commissioning the cameras by about 2 feet. This makes me think that the original calibration was wrong (which might explain their decommissioning) and also makes me think that my original conviction is unsafe because of incorrect evidence. Any of you guys got any thoughts on how to take this further?
I also read this rubbish on the Essex County Council site justifying these cameras:
"The impact of the speed limit has greatly reduced the numbers of errant vehicles (damage only) colliding with the safety barriers and road side furniture. In many of these instances the vehicle leaves the scene with the County having to pay for the cost of repair. In addition the lower limit will lower the risk of a major incident. Anecdotal evidence also suggests that driver’s behaviour is improved at the location by the lower limit and enforcement.)
Drive safe :-)
