Paul once you have got used to the 4 pots & when funds allow I can recommend Ian's big brake kit that uses the 4 pot caliper as a reasonably cheap upgrade. It takes it to the next level from just changing the 2 pots to 4 pots. Better pads & a bigger disc that sit under 17" wheels

I am sure Ian will correct me if I am wrong but I don't think the 335mm discs will fit under 16" wheels.
These are some of my past set ups. As you can see there is not a lot of clearance by the caliper with the 335mm discs under 18" wheels. So 17's will be snugger still yet alone 16's.
OE disc & 4 pots under 18" PFF7 wheel. Loads of room
335mm disc & Brembo caliper under a 18" PFF7 wheel
335mm disc & Brembo caliper under a 18" Wolfrace wheel

Iv got yellow stuff pads on my 2pots, I got told not to bother with any ebc pads by performance touch as they don't rate them. Obviously that's personal opinion. But my discs have gone blue from overheating, hence why I've brought some 4pots.
My next question is are the discs on 4 pots bigger than the discs on 2 pots?

I don't have any close up shots of my P1 wheels but have this which shows it looks like a normal 4 pot. HTH.

Changing to braided brake lines can improve feel as can fitting a pedal-box bracket to the bulkhead also better brake fluid will help if things are getting hot. So many things to do & so much to spend.

Pre 99 WRX had 270mm front & 230mm rear. Cars after that tended to be heavier so needed better brakes.

Most of the classics use a 266mm rear disc , the early cars had solid discs , then they went to vented discs

I only bought them for the calipers as im doing the 335ml brake upgrade so thought might as well do it properly. Im going to get the calipers sprayed n laquered up so there looking really nice. When i do the brakes then ill be doing the rear calipers with the 2 pot rear conversion as well as braided lines and dot5.1 brake fluid. Should happen next month or two hopefully

Just to correct you on the disc size , on the early classics with the 2 pot front calipers , they had 277mm front discs , and for the 4 pot calipers they use a 294mm disc

I should have known not to trust a car mag for accurate info. It came from a buyers guide in EVO.

Thank you for the info. The set up I have brought is from an '03. That would explain why I thought the discs looked bigger. Tbh they cant be any worse than what I have atm.
