I made a suggestion that it may be worth turning up 'en masse' to one of his surgeries :-

Could invite the press along as well

What all in ESOC polo shirts
Pistonheads covered the article today and 99% gave the man a thorough ear bashing (online of course) I imagine the remaining 1% were of the 'none of the above' variety.

So even though its all done for "charity" he wants to stop it. So is this mp going to write to all the charities that the tunnel runs have been done for that he "will take full responsibility" for the loss of donations to the charities these events bring. Sooner or later the modified car owners will get punished for doing good.

and as always a very very few idoits diving silly spoils it for the rest off us ,i bet it wasnt even a tunnel run but for this mp its a good place to start ,and in an age of charitys suffering with the recession at least the car cumminity still putting there hands in there pocket when the goverment motto is cut cut cut ,its ok coming off my soap box know .

Can see his pov tbh, it's difficult to tell the difference between a car modifier and a boy racer if you are not involved in the scene, you can't rule these people out either, it's far to easy to paint every Saxo VTS driver with the same brush, it take all shapes and sizes, even when I arrived at West Ferry on the Tunnel run a prat in a Ferrari something was sitting on my bumper, I mean come on!

There is always a different perspective to all arguments.
My feeling is that Tunnel Runs have had their day it seems like everyone and their cat is doing a run "for charity" nowadays and I can see some of the point he is trying to make.
To have one run past your doorstep every Saturday night would get on anyones nerves. You might think that YOUR run is only once per year but the reality is different.
I can remember someone coming on here and complaining once about the Posers Cruise. He said that he had difficulty getting his pregnant wife to hospital because we blocking the road. Puts it into perspective.
We all have to give and take in this life and sometime this will include stepping back and looking at the big picture. It's unavoidable that SOMEONE will get inconvenienced by a tunnel run AND it's a bit rich that this particular MP seems to be trying to get some political mileage out of it. Saying that who would you rather be complaining? An MP or the Police
