The Saturday Night Southend Run
Saturday 2nd February 2013
Meeting @ Tesco's Basildon ( Mayflower retail park ) A127 London bound from 7pm SS14 3HZ
WE LEAVE @ 8PM !!!!
DO'S & DON'TS FOR ALL MEMBERS
1. No Doughnuts , Flame Testing, Handbrake Turns or Excessive Exhaust Noise whilst in Tescos car park . This is our home please don't abuse it
2. Once in convoy. Keep checking your mirrors for other vehicles that get stuck in the convoy ! Please indicate & move over to left lane and let them filter through.
3. Be ready for the "Underpass" slow down & launch
Warning ! Make sure your at 50 Mph before getting to the 1st yellow average speed camera post after the weir underpass. It's a sneaky fixed speed camera trap !! It's not a AVERAGE SPEED camera !!
4. When regrouping at the seafront. Drive all the way around the bend and park up before the speed camera .
5. Drive ALL the way along the seafront past the Kursaal & double back at the Thorpe Esplanade roundabout , If you wish to park up straight away without driving the full loop , Please stay at the back after the re group ( Westcliff end ) & let the main group carry on to complete the full circuit
6. Fixed Cameras / Traffic Units / Mobile Cameras / Keep your eyes peeled You have been warned

I'll add that last month, since the doughnut/tea place wasn't open we chavved it up in the sea life center car park instead. Worth a look to see if the little place is open on the way past first and decide.

The devil car leading a cruise (main picture for the newer members)
Im working at our DR site in basildon, corner of traffic lights of the road that runs to kfc. So dependant on what time i finish may cime for a wander down. If im still working you will have to give the flat fours a blast paat my office lol

i still flash at the odd scoob (in the cmax) and do get some funny looks once bitten by the scooby bug you arent getting rid of it
It was my UK turbo classic, lead car on outside lane. wont bore you with all the details but over the 5 years i owned it, i had 1 or 2 issues with her!!! had some very good times in her and some very low times as well......

God we all hated that thing lol. Spent more time killing itself than it did running.

I'm surprised with that experience, it didn't put you off from ever owning another scoob again
Now i can understand why it was known as the devils car
Maybe you should have had it blessed by the local vicar

Certainly was close to pushing it off a cliff on more than one occasion. But that is what ESC was, and hopefully what ESOC will get to be.......more than just a car club think I made as many meets in a non scoob as I did in a scoob lol

Not the only one tho mate, my classic spent as much time broken than being used in the few years i had it. 3 gearboxes and an engine later when it was all sorted what did i do? buy a TVR.
