ESOC TUNNEL RUN X 2013 - ***PREPARATION***
Hi guys the time is fastly approaching for the winter tunnel run.
I have managed to gain contact with Ron about organisation. Unfortunately he is extremely busy at this point in time. So im going to attempt getting the ball rolling.
Stickers - as per tradition for the winter tunnel run I think it may be a good idea to use the previous sticker format slightly modified to show it is the 10th run and hopefully an additional '10 year anniversary' statement. Looking through previous threads the price was £5 per sticker and wongy organised the stickers. Does anyone still keep in contact with him? And what are the chances hed be persuaded out of retirement for this occasion?
Route wise - I have discussed with ron about some route changes. Initially a change may be made to incorporate 'circuits' using the previous routes (hopefully not too much of a change and step away from original routes) this may eliminate 'lost scoobys'. Should it happen, by using a circuit method, anyone who manages to get lost will be able to jump back into the fun.
The theoretical plan is to prevent huge seperation and keep the numbers more bunched which I vision will mean more fun and good photo/video opportunitys.
As per the westferry shutdown during the summer, this will not be included and a new funtime/rest/photo location will be sourced.
CHARITY - I have heard the chosen charity for this year will be HELP FOR HEROES
PROPOSED DATE IS: Saturday 26th October
As ive never been involved in the organisation of these events please feel free to tell me to off.
If your decidedly kinder than that. Then lets get a list of interest going (more so for an idea of amount of stickers required) and use this thread for open discussion and suggestions before an official thread is constructed with final routes and plans etc....
If anyone who usually helps out with organisation would like to give a helping hand it'd be greatly appreciated
Lets get the ball rolling!!!!!
UPDATE:
Ive managed to recruit rab with some sticker designs, heres 'a quick fettled attempt' by him. I envy photoshop skills.....

I think Ron laid some groundwork previously by advising a proposed date: I would imagine people were just waiting for confirmation of the plans. I'm sure the numbers will swell between now and then, particularly as it's for a good cause.

Not at all - it's a fairly open invite as long as you respect the "rules and regulations" of the night.
Quite a few from Kent attended the June tunnel run, and I think there were a few from the Middlesex Owners Club too.
The more the merrier.

I've not attended an October tunnel run by ESOC before, but I'm led to believe it is the most popular one of the year.
There is a video on YouTube of the beginning of the '11 or '12 October run (can't remember which) - all the cars leaving Lakeside services and filing past. The video is over nine minutes long, there were that many in attendance.
So yes, absolutely - keep it free and get involved. It's for a good cause.

Yes the october run has been every year, the summer run this year was a first.
When the official thread is posted. Id appreciate it if as many people as possible would put their names down, to try and get the closest amount of stickers required. Sadly because many people aren't listed from other forums/facebook etc... they miss out on stickers.
I will copy the list from this thread to the new one, so you dont have to worry about putting your name down again.
I will try to get the official thread up this weekend as it may be the only chance I get. (Computer needed rather than the phone)
Thanks guys and keep the interest coming.
