Default fizzing sound from driver side and car cuts out..

greetings,I have a 1997 wrx it runs really well until I get an electrical fizzing sound from the drivers footwell then the whole car cuts out,a couple of seconds later it starts up and is fine for another day or even a week,no warning lights on the dash etc...please can anyone help,i"m at the end of my witts,I have had an auto electrician on the case and he could not fine any problems,but I hear the fuel pump relay can be a problem,but would it cause this?

Well, I'd guess you have a wire shorting against the chassis under the carpet.
Do you have any non standard audio equipment (sometimes this can mean taking a live feed from the battery to the back of the car), this could be a prime suspect.
If I were you I'd take up the carpet and look for bare wires and/ or scorch marks indicating a short.

also I have no sub or wiring in the boot,it sounds like the noise is coming from the fuse panel under the right kick plate..the only thing I have had done was to have a immobiler fitted,
