Just saw this vid and noticed he's running the same turbo as me with an external waste gate


What's involved in converting to external waste ate on a TD05 18G

 

You would need to either replace or fabricate your uppipe and downpipe (if using a screamer no need to do the downpipe) so that it has the wastgate pipe so you can fit the EWG .
Then you will need to keep your internal wastegate shut. You can by a bracket that replaces your wategate linkage and that saves you having to weld it shut.
I have seen them on the cobb performance site so I suppose you could either make one or have a look around at buying one.

I honestly don't know if the cost to do is worth what you would gain if any other than more accurate boost control?
