MY99 UK Hesitation / IACV problem fixed
Hey guys, thought I'd report back after hopefully fixing some problems I was having with hesitation and fuel cut on boost and I ended up with some idle problems after disconnecting the MAF and battery which led me to classic IACV issues.
I changed my spark plugs to some iridium NGKs gapped at 0.7, cleaned and clamped down all air intake hoses as I though I may have a vacuum leak as well somewhere. I also reset the ECU and did 100 miles of smooth steady driving and it's like a different car! Smooth power, great around town and no more idle issues although it dipped below 300rpm a few times after the initial reset.
The plugs that came out were really crappy and worn but not oily or covered in white residue which I was pleased about. I can't believe what a difference it made, very happy

Absolutely! I don't cut corners and love these cars so although I'm not loaded, I'll spend what's required to ensure it's working well for the next guy You're right though, research and starting with the basics costs nothing really. I might be getting a proper one soon yay.
