Default Identify this Impreza piston please:

It came out of an unknown short engine I bought a while ago,
supposedly Impreza Turbo of some sort:

or is it even from an Impreza?

Cheers,

Mike.

That is an early Legacy cast 'dog bone' piston Mike, the early Impreza's were similar but without the deep valve pockets on the crown.

Thanks Mick, I hoped you would read this thread!
Here's piston number 4 out of that block:

This was supposed to be a usable short motor!
Looks like I was sold a pup, but it was 3 years ago, just got round to stripping it down.
Hopefully the crankshaft is Ok, the whole short motor only cost me £70.

Is it even a turbo piston, or N/A?
The block is open deck.

Yes looks like a Leggy turbo piston - shame you were sold a pup with that detted piston.
Hopefully the center thrust crank will be ok to recoup some of your outlay.
