Default Exhaust options

Hi
I currently have a japspeed back box on my bugeye wrx wagon
Not long had the car and it came with the back box in question. It was a hoot at first being loud. But that's just it's loud there's not an ounce of tone to it at all
I would like to change it for something a bit more subtle at low revs but really comes on song when giving it a bit of welly.
All 3 original cats are in place and will stay that way.
Toying with the idea of prodrive boxes?

Any recommendations?

By the sounds of it a Prodrive one will probably suit you, pretty quiet, but does come on song quiet nicely but without causing blood to pour out of your ears.

If you want a step louder, a Cobra box is also an option, the one with the larger silencer and the 3.5/4" tail pipe

There are a few older box's that would suit like a Race Box etc if you can find them. hayward and Scott also do a quieter box, but the PRodrive ones can be picked up for 80-100 second hand, if your not fussed over new or not, id go with a Prodrive.

With all your cats in place, things will generally be a lot quieter anyway...god only knows what that Japspeed one would sound like with straight through pipes! Japspeed are rubbish imo, chinese market made thin stainless steel , they are built for the facebook generation

Then if you want perfection, get an STI Genome

It certainly produces a unique sound, there's a fairly steep hill out of my town lined with houses giving a tunnel type effect, coming down it on a closed throttle popping and banging always makes me smile. Childish I know!

If a man has got to the point when he can't enjoy pops and bangs then he should be dead

Never been a fan of loud exhausts, here's my last one ;D

I'd still say a Miltek is still a good option for what the OP is looking for

I've you tubed milltek, prodrive and the genomes and to be honest I can't tell much difference between then although audio quality factors come in to play.

Question is now quality wise which one would stand the test of time?

Any of the above 3 are quality bits of kit and will last. Prodrive easily sourced used and pretty cheap. Milktek reasonably dear but you get what you pay for. Genome, good luck finding one lol. If your not in too much of a hurry, your welcome to come and have a listen of mine but it's at extreme scoobies at the minute. If not go for the prodrive, you won't be disappointed.

What's the gains like with the sti up pipe and sports cat? Do you get better spool? I'm not fussed about loud as long as it's got some tone to it
Is the sti up pipe de catted??

Trouble is it's a daily drive and I don't wanna risk it becoming an irritation usually the jog in and out of work can be fairly congested.
