Default What power level will T2000 heads become restrictive?

I'm planning on buying a newage STI short block and bolting my heads and a nice turbo on.

I've just had a 6 speed conversion done so would like to use it to its potential now. I'd love to see around 400 BHP maybe a tad more. I understand the blocks good for it, but will the heads be ok?

Most other supporting mods are there already, I'm unsure of what injectors are in at the mo. What size would I need for 400-450?

650cc or 750cc would be ok for that power.

My Newage WRX heads were improved by removing material from the chambers to improve gas flow, you would think they'd be identical but one side needed more work than the other. My car now runs 466hp, that's 2litre heads on a 2.5 block.
Paul Finch did the work.

Hi there

Stock T2000 heads should support 400-450bhp,but you will need consider in later stages go with STI V6 heads or AVCS heads,I would suspect only thing which can be limiting factor are cams

Do you know what turbo are you planning to run?

Thanks,Jura

I was planning on an SC42. I would like to run more in the future, so plan on using JDM heads, I know this will require new ECU etc but that's quite a bit down the line.

420 should see me fine for a while though I reckon.

For this level yours heads should be OK and shouldn't be too restrictive

If you don't want to go with JDM heads, then I would suggest STI V6 heads which seems are best

Thanks,Jura

V6 heads would be good as I'm guessing they would work with my standard ecu.

Yes V6 STI heads will be straight swap on yours and they will work with standard ECU if you want to keep OE ECU and go route of the EcuLab

Thanks,Jura

Would V6 heads bolt up fine to a 2.5?

Those built 2.6 lumps do look mighty tempting

Not sure if I would recommend use them on 2.5L,EJ25 AVCS can be better option if you are want go with 2.5L,just due if you want to use 2.0L on 2.5L you will need get them machine and matched chambers etc to 2.5L and this can cost, not sure how much this cost

Not sure if I would go with 2.6L,rather I would choose destroker'd 2.5L to 2.33L or 2.1L,if budget allow then EJ22T with stroker

Stock Open deck block should be OK for yours needs and if its possible speak with Alyn@AS Performance about the CDB inserts or get block pinned(think Alyn@ASP or Paul Finch doing this) and with this spec you shouldn't have any issue with higher power and with right turbo you will have awesome combo and spec

Thanks,Jura
