Question Titanium head studs?

Guys

Does anyone know if head studs could be made from titanium grade 5 without any problems ? I believe the arp ones are made from high tensile steel and roll threaded rather than turned

Thanks

Depend on build..

On high spec build i would say no

Titanium

H11 toolsteel

Tensile strenght of titanium is about half relieved situation.
The stretch of titanium is 14% vs 8% of the H11

Second of all. with the heat-treatment you can give te H11 toolsteel you can modify tensile strenth, stretch and the hardness of the rod.
Even with same base material. you can make a lot of different rod specifications. A lot of heat-treatment and stress-release processes around to customize the specs of the material.

About thread rolling vs cutting. With thread rolling you compress the surface layers of the steel. Better tensile strenght, shear strenght and resitance to fatique.
