My wife has an 09 Forester. Last night I traded in a 94 Accord with 186K in and bought a 2012 Impreza Sport Premium. I know I should have read all the reviews before buying the car, but we didn't. Now I have buyers remorse for the simple reason is that I've read nothing but bad news about these cars prematurely burning oil and Subaru doing nothing about it. Now I know why the dealership offered to guarantee the engine as long as I had the oil changes done there. They are probably going to have to do an oil consumption asessment.
Can anyone ease my fears? Have I made a bad decision?

As above the n/a 2.0 isn't the one to watch for premature failure, its the ej25t found in newage wrx/stis/foresters.
Maybe your getting the reviews confused with the turbo charged models?
I used to run a 2.0 naturally aspirated Impreza as a daily and it was nothing short of brilliant reliability wise.
