Default 07 2.5 sti heads onto 03 2.0 sti block?

Hi there split the liner on my hawkeye 2.5 sti block so looking to put a 2.0 block into it but dont know whether to use the 2.5 heads or the 2.0 heads? both have the avics but is there a difference in valve size or will they even fit each other?

Thanks morgan

Hi Morgan

Sadly you can't use 2.5L heads on 2.0L,on other hand you can use 2.0L on 2.5L,just you will need to CNC'd them

Not sure what are you planning, but 2.0L heads are good,if you come across JDM/Spec C heads then you have best heads, just check cracks around the spark plugs

2.5L heads seems are very popular on 2.35L and they're not prone to cracking as 2.0L

Thanks,Jura

Hi Morgan

If you have complete 2.0L then you should be fine, just I would check heads if they're fine, check for cracks

Second bit,you will need straight away tweaking or mapping the engine, just due compression is different and whole engine is different

Last bit this i would confirm with yours mapper,if swap will be without the problems, just due newer hawk or 2.5L STI or WRX using DBW and different sensors for cams etc

Please speak with your mapper first there and good luck

Thanks,Jura
