My mate who has an 07 STi 2.5 had a similar problem, he thought it was power steering pump, but when it went in for a service not long ago they tightened one of the engine belts and that was the fix of the issue. I have no idea how it all relates but I'm sure someone else will chime in.

I read somewhere that it was due to the DCCD setup. If you put the handbrake on 1 click when slow maneuvering this should stop.

I should add, I believe the DCCD computer has a handbrake input so by putting the handbrake on 1 click so the dash light is on it should open the diff up and stop the noise.

Can't really hear it very well on video, but worn wheel bearings groan when they are under load, e.g. turning.

Unfortunately they don't easily show up when trying to wobble the wheel etc, but worth investigating as if it is gone, the longer it is like this the more likely you are to require a new stub axle.

yeah, sorry you need to turn up the volume high. I had considered wheel bearing, but I would have thought that would have been much worse at speed i.e. heavy cornering when there is more load on that side, and also that it would have been either turning left or right not both. At speed i.e. normal driving there are no noises even when cornering hard, although obviously not as sharply as when parking!

One more thing...

I think after some testing the last couple of days I've worked out why it seems a little intermittent. It seems to be worse when the car is cold. I.e this morning very reproducible in car park after maybe few min drive, but tonight after 45 min drive seemed impossible to reproduce under the same turns etc

If you do a quick search on the forum you'll find a few suggestions to your problem. One I found was that the later 2.5 dccd diff is more critical on oil choice. If your diff has got worse then could be oil related. I'd be changing all the oils first to recommended type and going from there.

Did you try the handbrake trick yet?

I read somewhere that it doesn't always release properly on the dccd controller and the handbrake trick was still worth a try.

I feel a bit silly suggesting this but could it be vibration, when the car is cold and the revs are just right with the added load of the power steering pump it could just cause something (maybe behind the dash) to vibrate.

Try giving it some more revs when cold and manoeuvring.

or what about this https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-pictures.html
