Default Better been drained after a few days

Hey folks got a problem the battery is farely new about a year old and is getting drained after a few days maybe even after a day. The car doesn't get driven much and when I'm Offshore gets disconnected.

It might be the battery but also want to check the alternator I have a multi meter what connections do I go to?

Thanks

Steve

Have the car running and go on the battery terminals you should see about 14.5v.

well alternators fine, battery voltage is a bit low might just be fatigued.

What ancillaries do you have: like after market ECU/ alarm system ect as you must have excessive current draw when the car is idle. From what I can remember the average car draws 0.03 of an amp in hibernate. You will have to check the spec for your current model and you will have to check the current draw once the car is in hibernate. about 15-20 mins once you have applied the dead lock.

please see:
I would explain but take too much typing.

Cheers for the info checked this morning and the current draw I am getting is between 0.09 and 0.11

I began to remove one fuse at a time low and behold by the 4th try I think I found the problem

Sure the fuse in question is alarm / central locking

looks like you may need a new alarm control unit. it seems it not going into idle, is it the oem one or an aftermarket one.

what you do offshore anyway?

my car does the same thing, battery is fine and charges correctly, if i remove the same fuse as you have mentioned it doesnt drain.
i have done a test on the car and there is nothing draining the battery so i can only assume its the alarm control unit.

thats what i do now, not ideal but the car doesnt get used for weeks and its the only way to stop battery going flat.

mine started a while back and i hadnt fitted anything electrical so it has to be alarm related.

had a search on the net and it doesnt turn up much though.
