Default Intermittent boost problem

Hi

Noticed my standard blobeye wrx was lacking power so thought I would install a boost gauge to see what's going on, I could only get max 0.5 bar, then whilst out driving it suddenly kicked back in up to around 1 bar and was fine for a few days then yesterday back down to 0.5 and low power, I've noticed if I switch ignition off then back on again it cures it! This tells me it's something electrical, has anybody had anything like this before? Are there any sensors to check to start with?

Thanks

sounds like its detecting a problem and going onto limp mode . Any fault lights come up?

No lights coming up, I agree it does seem like limp mode and 0.5 bar is the maximum, I have been fiddling with the adjustable dump valve, could that cause a fault? I've recently had it wound in quite a bit. Cheers

Could well be. could be overboosting and causing limp mode. Try winding back slightly and see if the problems ceases or not.

Have you checked the wiring on your new boost gauge? Might be as simple as that as it happened to my Sti RA a few months back.
