Default no blow off noise but flutter??

yo people, after having low boost at 0.7bar me and a friend took off the vacuum pipes to look for the pill, it was there, we teared one of the pipes by mistake but it was long enough to cut and attach, after putting everything back together the car is pulling much harder and boosting at 1.4bar???? could a kink in the vacuum pipe of caused the low boost? heres a pic

could the pipe of been kinked on the inter cooler?

also when driving normal or hardish i cant hear the bov?? only a flutter noise when releasing the throttle?? only if i boot it to about 5-6k revs then it dumps off?? heres pics of the bov, not sure what kind it is?

That is the vac pipe to the turbo actuator that controls boost pressure, so yes. Quite possible.

That was the pipe that ripped when taking it off, we cut and reattached it, any idea what make the bov is?

the noise is because of the boost levels in the rev range, low down you are not hitting boost/very little and high up you are

Buy an HKS SSQV

This is mine that was fitted to my previous STI

Also a video of the Balieys one that was fitted before hand (very mild compared to the SSQV!)

i thought that it doesnt matter on the make if it is venting to the atmosphere and you have a maf your engine will run rich regardless.

a standard wrx one will be fine

OE will be fine.

If you want a valve that vents to atmosphere I would use nothing but a GENUINE HKS SSQV. I say genuine as the ebay ones are pretty much 99% fakes which will cause issues and fail. A genuine one will not be had for less then £200.

What ever you do you need it fitted before the remap. Otherwise changing after the remap may cause the fine set of parameters set in the remap to be thrown out slightly.

Thanks for all the info guys, more expense i guess. Suppose owning a Scooby means deep pockets lol. So if its mapped on the blow off valve that's on the car then i pretty much have to stick with it? Or could i just stick with a atmospheric one. Think the maf is still on the car yeah

Usually because the muppet before you fitted bad parts and messed it all up. The problem with second hand scoobies is there have usually been several owners who have tried to "upgrade" things.....
