Default 2nd generation of boxer diesel in 1st generation Impreza

We all know about failures of first generation of Subaru boxer diesel. It usually seizes around 100k km and engine block is deformed.

I wonder if anyone managed to install 2011+ engine in first generation of Imprezas.

I wonder whether this is possible.

I am currently looking (once again) for Impreza...this time Impreza GT...it is hard to get decent WRX first generation these days.

Challenge is...I drive 20-30k km per year and petrol turbo engine last about 200k km. Most used cars have 150-170k km.

Second generation of diesel Impreza is expensive to wreck out :-D

Any suggestions, please?
