Hawkeye STI Engine and Hatchback Engine

Hello

The engine from my 2009 Hatchback STI is broken so my Question. Is the Hawkeye engine the same as the Hatchback Engine. Or where can i get a cheap short or longblock?

Short motors are the same, modine & pipework is different, from the fireface upwards they are completely different.

Depends on what you call cheap, fit a 2nd hand unknown unit & take the risk of doing it again next week, or get yours rebuilt properly.
