Default DV/BOV question....

I have read various threads on here about atmospheric DV's and recirc but nothing definitive.

Hoping I can get some good advice here.

I have just bought a 2005 WRX STi Type UK. The car came with the PPP kit and I have the certificate with matching chassis numbers.

I have gone around the car and this is what I have found upto now:

- Bailey atmospheric DV
- Full Mongoose decatted 3" exhaust

I believe it is remapped (either the PPP or aftermarket) as well as the PPP fuel pump.

Car pulls good but occasionally in 4th, 5th and 6th when using power then easing off I am getting a whistling (sounds like BOV staying open???). Quick prod on the accelerator and it stops or when I put my foot back down.

Doesn't seem to struggle making power or going through the gears but surely this cant be a good thing with the whistling.

Looking into the Forge recirc DV or an adjustable so does recirc and atmospheric.

Got a Perrin short ram to fit soon and changing the DV before going to Scoobyclinic for a power run and see what I have to play with.

Any suggestions for a good recirc or an adjustable version. No eBay specials either, looked at Perrin & Forge upto now.

Cheers

Rob

Best bet is go back to standard recirc valve. They are very good indeed.

I would need to order one as bought car with the Bailey kit fitted. Just curious if its worth going for the Forge recirc over the standard recirc? More reliable? Any benefits?

Cheers

Nope. No benefit. Standard probably better.

My Map is set for VTA - last owner changed it to recirc before he had it dyno'd and it ran decent figures. Will do both for curiosity.

the car will whistle when youre easing off because it is venting turbo pressure. nothing to worry about at all
