Default Vibration after clutch change

Hi - could do with some opinions :-)

When I bought my standard MY05 Blobeye wagon (PPP) a few months the clutch as incredibly heavy - so decided to change it last month. New one is a good bit lighter, but I'm getting vibration on the clutch pedal when starting to push down on it, which goes when the clutch is fully engaged. Doesn't do it when stationary. Also notice it when driving say at 60mpg, put foot very lightly on clutch and the vibration starts. Not horrendous levels but I've never felt clutch vibration before in any car I've had/driven.

The flywheel wasn't changed at the same time and I've been very careful bedding it in, but it's now around 800 miles since the change was done.

I'm also starting to feel that the accelerator is also vibrating more now as well under acceleration but that might be me paying too much attention to any vibration.

Any views on the cause post clutch change?

Many thanks.

Hi,

I'm no expert and haven't seen it for myself on your car but I wonder if it might have something to do with the flywheel? As I had the exact same things happen to me on one of my old cars as you are describing so maybe someone else could be of better help but you could always get that checked asap at your local garage.

Yeah, I'm worried it might be down to not changing the flywheel at the same time. Didn't think about it at the time and the garage didn't suggest it either.

A few people have commented on here that a new clutch will "break in" and after 5-600 miles it smooths out.

Thanks guys - I'm around 800 miles in since the change, but I'll wait and see for another few hundred. Didn't change it myself, used a well regarded local Subaru specialist.

if you had the prob from the start I personally I would take it back to them but they mite be funny with you because its done 800mils sins . most Subaru specialist would no to check the fly wheel but it can get overlooked. if you find they dint check the fly wheel please let me no so I never take my car there
the only thing I can think besides flywheel is the release bearing but it also should have been changed. personally I would take it back to them. if you say this "Yo bluds my wip is mashup ca u man are wak check it now" with this face >< this should confuse them and 1 of 2thnigs will happen. they to do anything you ask with out bringing up the amount of miles you have done sins the change or they say WDF get out weirdo good luck

I had some clutch judder from the start when in reverse, but this has virtually disappeared after being 800 miles in, which can happen (and they said to wait a while for the new clutch to bed in). I've kept them in the loop re the vibration and not I've done a decent amount of milage and it's still there then I'll take the car back - and I'll use the phrase and facial expression recommended
