Default Is this resistor suitable for removing up pipe cat heat sensor?

http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/metal-film...-resistor-m2r2

Just read up on this and want to make sure this is suitable once the sensor is removed when I fit an STI up pipe.

Yes mate I believe this will be fine. I used a 1/4w if I can remember for my WRX, but its the resistance that is important (no expert though ).
But see this as a temporary fix only, as really ort to have a remap.

cheers Phil

Cheers, it will get a remap in the long run

Once I get to the point of having a Perrin turbo pipe, to go with the STI up pipe and the Perrin short ram intake, it will really want a map!

That's a little way off just yet.

So am I to take it that wasn't a typo then? Maplin don't seem to sell a 2.2K Ohm

Go on to RS Components or else buy a couple of resistors and connect them in series to make 2.2K.

You think it's definitely correct then?

RS do a 2K Ohm, not 2.2. It's also 0.25w, not 0.5. Don't think it's right and the fact nobody seems to sell this fabled resistor makes me even more worried that it's a typo in that article.

I don't know about the resistor being the correct value for this job, I was just making a suggestion for getting such a thing.

Any probs Jay, Pm me your address and I will send you one. I brought 10 of them over a year ago. Which I fitted to my 2005 Wrx and worked fine.
