Yes vf35 is good for 340-360 and its much easier to source than vf34.
Gearbox might give in at that level......to be fair even at 280 it can strip gears:P

Td05 16g will be a cheaper option and a stronger turbo and will give you around 330hp

Nice, so apart from the gearbox os there any other common faults that go wrong, I know adding more power is gonna raise the chance of problems.

Nope, everything else is down to your mapper to avoid any problems.
Box should be fine depending how you use it and past history of it.

a few on this site running around 340-50bhp with stock internals anything above 350 is pushing it.
440s will get you to 340ish with no probs

got my TD05 for much less then £200 and in good working order at midlandssubarusprears and they do postage. All parts are used but they do 100% money back if your not happy so you don't have to worry about flebay scams . Been running my TD05 for over 3000miles now with no probs

I got my 16G for less than £100.

If its a Subaru fitment turbo you will need to convert the compressor cover to front entry. I bought a pre machined one for £60.

TD05 flows more than a VF34/5 too.

You can remove the compressor cover and have someone convert it, or buy one thats already done and just swap it over.

Is it worth looking for one already done or does it not cost much to get one converted after buying the turbo new?

Does the top/front entry not depend on what year it came from?

TD05 16g came as standard turbo on classic WRX

Not essential, but why it's all off, it'd be a shame not to upgrade.
