Default twin scroll turbos

has anyone ever fitted a twin scroll setup on a classic?

want to have another play with my car

buying a tig welder so want to get arty on the exhaust

currrently running an andy forrest td05-20g with a knackered actuator and have 340bhp and slightly more torqu i think it is only running about .7 bar i think

im not after much more power i suppose if any just want something to spend a bit of time on making haha

so it got me thinking after reading about the borg warner turbos and that the other day and how they make boost sooner with a true twin scroll setup and just thought if im gonna mess around how i initially thought (by just rotating the standard turbo and changing the pipework) i might aswell change the turbo and fanimold aswell and make it externally gated

not to clued up on the turbos really so wouldnt know what to spec, id just like to have a go and see if it makes any difference as all it will really cost me is a bit of time and a few mandrel bends!

looks tidier doesnt it?!

getting a few new tools so wanted to put them to good use

i.e. pipe bender so gonna semi space frame the front end and thinking maybe rs500 intercooler rotated inlet and turbo setup so should help release a few extra ponies and help spool a bit

even if it doesnt it will look pretty iompressive i should think!

Isn't the twin scroll part of the compressor housing? So not point trying to make a twin scroll up-pipe without the twin scroll turbo?

yes the twin scroll refers to the hot side turbo casting

no need for AVCS per se, as just fitting the full twin scroll set-up will give a general improvement over a single scroll

you will require the headers/up-pipe, turbo, sump & oil pick-up/dipstick and specific down pipe as a "kit" to enable everything to work (presuming your using std JDM parts)
