Which is quicker to 80 and 100mph? WRX or STI
Hi All,
Just wondering, i know Newage WRX's are quicker to 60 than STI's because they don't have to change to third to get to 60.
But at what point or MPH will a Newage STI take over a WRX?
Both standard.
Lads, just after a straight answer, preferably from someone that has actually experienced both.
So please, no arguing or negative comments.
Cheers all

not for me paying someone to build something based on an inferior base.
i prefer to do the hard work myself, much more satisfying as cheque book tunings not for me.
but also my car would do a 0-60 launch more than once without the box sh1tting itself.
but a car running similar power and weight with one less gear change will be faster to 60 no doubt so you are correct.

Up the WRX power 40bhp up from an STI 305 v 265 and it's gets embarrassing for the revered STI.

Also 1st and 2nd are so short on the STI, traction and hitting the limiter are a problem for the average Joe.
The there's the extra weight and drag....
...and extra lag from the bigger Turbo and intercooler if not launching hard.

Subarus biggest embarrassment to date was the 2009 WRX being streets ahead of the 2009 STI in performance.
Hell they even had to put an up-pipe on the UK Newage WRX and drop power 20bhp.
Ancient Egyptians often kept cheetahs as pets, and also tamed and trained them for hunting. Cheetahs would be taken to hunting fields in low-sided carts, hooded and blindfolded, and kept on leashes while dogs flushed out their prey. When the prey was near enough, the cheetahs would be released and their blindfolds removed
...but hey if you're happy with the Brembos and 700bhp handling 6 speed for road use then knock yourself out.
The JDM Newage WRX is just in a different class to the UK STI. It'd leave the STI like it was parked.

I have Newage JDM WRX envy.
Mappable, AVCS, strong engine, highly efficient 5 speed box, lighter with better spool and MPG. Some say better road manners for our bumpy roads.
In every way it's better than an STI.
You even prefer the dark grey WRX interior!

i have had the use of both cars back to back for several years which id imagine is quite rare on here and the sti is the better faster car in every single way, i know this from experience as do a lot of members
this is why the sti is far more expensive, oh and as for the wrx interior thats also incorrect i prefer the black sti spec c interior hence why i have it in my car.

So basically your 430bhp STI was streets ahead of your partner Emma's 215bhp Bugeye?
Now I know your trolling.
Everyone knows the more power you throw at a 6 speed the less likely you'll get a clean get away.
I bet she had some right fun with you at the TLG.
Or are you telling me you made her track it with you for more creepy self-gratification? Rolling start after sneakily ousting her restrictor pill and placing kitchen roll over her air-filter?

My newage STI was in a different league to my newage WRX.
I've owned both, I can assure you. I also wonder just how many times the WRX gearbox will hold up to 0-60 test..
BTW my poverty spec UK classic would destroy both of them.
