Default Turbo query

Alright peeps. Hope for some information here . I have a full built motor in my toyota glanza . Shortly before the forged lump was put in i had a fresh built td05 hybrid built by midlands turbo for it. Its a td05 16g with a (big) comp housing and billet wheel.

Was wondering what you guys make with these turbos ? I was looking at a vf34-35 for it before i got it built .

It made 297bhp@ 1.5 bar -5000 rpm. but due to the old cylinder head on the lump we got some valve bounce near the rev limit, my tuner said there was plenty left in the turbo too

Now the cars of the road for the winter i have a spare head ported and polished and new springs in, maybe a change of turbo might be on the cards.
Looking for abit more power and response.

Sorry if its abit of a random question on a subaru forum

TD05-16G will make about 330-340bhp (with supporting mods) on an Impreza not sure if they would male that on your Glanza

If you use the Search function you'll see a lot more threads about all these turbos as these VF turbos are upgrades for Newage WRX owners so they ask similar questions.

A smaller displacement will require more boost to make the same power as a larger displacement engine with the same turbo, so as youre mapper said the turbo is still flowing at circa 300bhp @ 1.5bar, theoretically keep adding boost until it wont flow anymore and you will make the same peak power as any other using this turbo.

Vf34/35 turbos are pretty old now, i dont know of any modern equivalents but surely there is, turbo technology has moved forward a lot in the last 10years
