How often - Oil Top-up?
Hello everyone. How often do you top-up your oil?
Here is the thing: engine was rebuilt in July or so.
There is no leaks whatsoever, there is no oil on turbo and it's area, all the engine is dry as a baby's but. There is no smoke under heavy acceleration either.
Yet I topped up like 0.5-1 liter in 300 miles (2 months)... and car is low on oil again.
When starting up cold there is some steam and water coming out, but that is just the cat working. It should be blue smoke if there is something wrong . right?
This only happened since I changed the turbo, VF28 which was making a winding noise since day 1. But turbo is nice and clean in/out and intercooler is dry of oil too. I had more oil in intercooler with old TD-04. (cas is also mapped).
thanks.

Interesting thing you said gazney:
Mine has just forged conrods, still standard pistons in there. I do have some clearance between pistons and cylinder, when engine very cold and get similar piston slap to forged engine, but not that much.
Trip wise:
Similarly, I do about 4 trips / day /4 days a week of 2.5 miles each. I startup car, leave it running for 1 minute or so so I don't get that knocks etc then I drive it slowly (20-35 mph, small roads). it's rarely that I manage to get the 80 deg running temp at my destination. sometimes it only warms up to 68-72 deg.
thank you.
