Cable: You can fit a speedo converter (little box- km/h-mph), between the gear box and the back of the dash, you simply clip the speedo cable apart and join this into it, this will de-restrict your car...£50
Digital: I think there is a transponder behind the dash that you have to change, not sure

My WRX has had the km/h to mph converter fitted so the restriction is there, but now it won't kick in until 180mph instead of 180km/h, which I can live with

Another thing is that if it's fitted with a Turbo Timer then it could already be de-restricted. Many Japanese timers come with this option - i know my Ultra does and so do the Blitz ones (from memory).

Does anyone know which wire on the ECU to clip to insert the speed cut device on the version 7 WRX? I have bought a Pivot 180KM/H speedlimiter bypass fudge box. Device comes with pin out diagrams for only version 1 to 5 WRX ECUs.

DG Rallying. Using a UK ecu will remove the speed limiter. However, in any I have tried it also brings on the warning light for the cat. Probably because it doesnt recognize the temp probe or something.
