Default Engine rebuild with standard pistons?

Sorry, another question. If an engine was rebuilt but the standard pistons were re-used, would this be a worry? Particularly if the car has a simtek ECU with ALS? It's an STI RA V6

Nope the standard sti pistons are pretty decent, the rods are the weak link on classics

Why's it need rebuilt?

If it hasn't failed, and is just being freshened, or having new mains etc, why not?

So long as bore and piston is in good nick. I suppose you could replace the rings?

Don't know why it was rebuilt. Here is a quote from a for sale add by the same owner back in 2011.

Had this car for nearly 5 years, but decided to do some upgrades a couple of years ago. The final result was 379.6 bhp, done by the www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk at Surrey Rolling road.
The car only gets used at weekend due to having a company car, always cleaned and polished even if not used.

Car was imported in Nov 2001

The Engine rebuild was finished in November 2009.

Find below all the upgrades I had done by www.autoresto.co.uk
