Default Turbo 2000 cutting out problems

Good evening guys. New here...

I've got a turbo 2000 uk model and I'm having an issue with it cutting out. The car is completely standard and has been running great. Whilst driving on the motorway a couple of weeks ago the engine completely cut out on me. It would turn over but just wouldn't even attempt to fire. After lots of checking and wible wobbling everything without joy I disconnected the battery for 10 mins and it fired up without fault. Took off down the road for about 5 miles and it did it again. Neg lead on and off quickly and away to go again. Been fine ever since until today.

Anybody got any ideas? It sounds like a fuel issue I'm thinking

Bet it's the sigma immobiliser relay for fuel pump. It does exactly as you say when it starts failing. Do a search there is plenty of info basically you bridge the fuel pump part of the immobiliser circuit.

Thanks Gambit. I'll have a good search now.

Another thing to check would be the fuel pump connector under the back seat, drivers side.

As above, but if its all good to the connector also worth checking the fuel pump itself. Mine failed at 160k - I assumed it would be the immobiliser but it was the pump itself.
