Default really need to get to the bottom of this boost issue..help please

right iv tried everything to sort the under boosting issue out, iv put the car into diagnostic mode with the green connectors etc and cleaned the solenoid with brake cleaner. the boost solenoid seemed to be ticking away and seemed to be working. my actuator is free and will move when I tug on it although it is a little stiff..

any other ideas what this could be? im getting bored of this now and have checked everything from dump valve to replacing all vac hoses etc

must be a GC8 import V1 that's only boosting spring pressure:
https://www.scoobynet.com/general-technical-10/1022651-boosting-issues-with-my-gc8-import-version-1-a.html

so - if you've checked for codes and there are non the solenoid is most likely the culprit. Worth a punt as they are anything from 5 quid to 40 quid depending on which type you need. There are 3ports and 2ports, you'd need to look at yours and count how many hoses are attached to it.

I know on the newage ECU's the car needs to be up to temp before the ECU will be trying for boost, could be the same on your one mr, see if you can make the sensor happy and then see what happens

yeah the restrictor pill was definatly fitted, and occasionally the car drives as normal boosting up perfectly, its a really odd one and its my first Subaru so its all new to me. iv owned turbo cars before so have checked all the obvious things like actuator etc and intercooler pipework. the solenoid clicks and seems to work perfectly in the diagnostic test mode too. only code its showing is 21 which is coolant temp sensor.

Ok
Intermittent problem,,could be failing coil pack? Singles on the V1 and are prone to cracks.
Faulty fuel pump? Check wiring, black connector under rear seats(prone to melting) and connecting block on top of the tank. Mileage ?? Ever had a new pump? As the don't last forever.
Keep at it mate, you will nail it

i havnt looked at the fuel system yet as iv been thinking its a boost issue this whole time, but tomorrow il check the fuel tank out and see what the connector block looks like, iv got a receipt to say it had an uptrated pump fitted from somwere, when its running really slow it doesnt seem to hesitate or anything drives exact the same but feels like very low boost. im going to change plugs on monday along with coolant temp sensor and il check the coil packs out too

thanks for the help bud much apreciated
