Default Power is addictive

After a very successful mapping session I now feel the need for more.

My SC40 has reached its limit at 411, what turbos do people run for 450-500?

I say no more than 500 as it is the safe limitation of my pistons, so I was told when the engine was built.

I would like to avoid going rotated if possible.

I have all supporting mods required apart from the turbo and some headers and up-pipe. - I already plan to go RCM headers with harvey smith up-pipe.

Current spec -
Forged 2.0
STI 55 Chassis with uprated brakes suspension etc.
800cc injectors
walbro 255
FMIC
Full 3" HKS system
Uprated clutch with lightweight flywheel.

sc42 will see a bit more without adding too much lag, sc46 is more aimed at 2.5 though

Turbo specialists but personally I think there's cheaper alternatives which will fit the bill.

Yes there is cheaper but you get what you pay for, You only have to look at who is running there turbo's to realise its what you need.

Found it laggy on my previous 2.0 with a fmic, GT headers, 800CC injectors. Once on boost it was an animal, especially with a dash of meth but the lag was horendous if you dropped out of boost.

Lag is only apparent if you're in the wrong gear.

I've driven 2 Imprezas with SC46s, one with AVCS and one without and would say neither was laggy.

46 is aimed at 2.5 so may well be laggy on a 2.0, setup may help though.

I've got an SC46 on my 2.0 and it's great provided I don't expect it pull from 2.5k revs because it won't. But once it hits 3.5k then it takes off really strongly. Just a matter of being in the right gear

In respect to the lag I find the sc40 laggy when i'm in the wrong gear.

Until about 3.5k there is no real pull.

So by the sound of it I won't be having much more lag than I have, sc46 could be a good option. If I bought a billet one it would be even better!

Exactly, I always have power available. It just may need a gear to be dropped first.
