Also, some types of 16" and even some 17" won't go over 4pots. If you do upgrade your wheels with this in mind, check they fit first.

The standard 16" wheels that came on my 95WRX wouldn't take the Subaru 4pots because the spokes would catch the calipers. I ended up with a set of MY00 UK 16" wheels!

Hello again.
I did once buy a raceline RL7 15" as a test rim. This cleared my 325mm discs with the AP Calipers i used on the Legacy. Ive still got the wheel somewhere brand new, never had a tyre on it.
If you need to borrow it as a tester your quite welcome.

hdcsub - Thanks - I'm guessing that they're 7in, (I know, well it's been posted) a number of times that 7in RL-7's will clear some pretty big brakes. I'm just trying to see if 6in one will clear Subaru 4-Piston Gp N type brakes. I would rather run the narrower width rim on my snow tires (We average 160+ in of snow here in the northeast us where I live.)

hoppy - WRC rule specify a 15in rim for gravel rally's. Not many "commercially" available 15in rims will clear but I belive both Copomotive TH-2's and Raceline RL-7's will.

325mm is 13inches so I guess the discs will fit under 15s. But you won't get any road calipers in there as well

Howard

I found out the same thing on Friday from a mate who used the same wheel.

My next question Howard is, have you got any 4 pots??

Bit of a thread resurrection but I'm sure I have read somewhere that these particualr OEM alloys allow clearance for 4 pots

definately not unfortunately, they are simply early std wheels..............

you need a pukka competition designed 15" wheel to clear 4pots

I use a Classic Impreza Wagon for gravel rallying so pretty much have to use 15" wheels.

I use Toora Competizione 15" wheels and they fit over Subaru 4-Pot brakes. I also have one Revolution Millenium wheel and one Raceline RL7 which fit over the 4-Pots.

Basically SPECIAL 15" RALLY WHEELS fit over Subaru 4-Pots.

As I only have one Revolution Millenium & one Raceline RL7 wheel, I am looking for more if anyone has them!!!

Because of the profile of gravel tyres ?

Captainfunbags - Because of the availability of gravel rally tyres. Loads available in 15" because of the regulations but less easy to find larger diameter and therefore more expensive.
