Default P1245 fault

Hi my scooby 2002 wagon is showing the eml with a reading of P1245 which I understand to be Wastegate Control Solenoid Valve Malfunction Fail-Safe.I reset the fault but it came back pretty soon. The car has had a mature owner for the last 9 years and is completely standard..
My question is is this a common fault? Is this an easy fix?I'am a pretty competent diy mechanic but the other option I have is that I can take it back to the seller within 14 days if required.
Thanks.

Could well be that the boost control solenoid needs replaced or cleaned out.

Mounted on the osf strut tower. you'll see the pipes fed across to the engine and turbo. Don't upgrade those unless you plan to remap as they need the ecu tweeked to suite

Yes that would do it. replace the hose and reset the fault and see how you get on
