Cleaning green panel filter.
Just gonna clean my green panel air filter for the first time, but iv remembered people saying impreza's don't like oil on the air filters as the air flow sensors go pop iv heard (map/maf i aint a clue) Is this true ? To oil or not to oil ? That's the question ha ha. What do you guys do after washing em ? Car is a turbo 2000 .

Personally I'll leave it alone mate, if it's not causing any issues, if it's proper covered in dirt replace it, I washed mine Once knackered the MAF, if it's not broken no need to fix it 👍

Did you let it dry properly first though ? Also did you use too much oil after you washed it. Iv heard its the oil that does the damage . Although I've run mine for a good few thousand miles and no problems with it and it must have had oil on it when i bought it.

Just follow the process in that video i put up for you,i have cleaned many a filter over a time and always lightly oil them as when you buy a filter brand new that is how they come anyway, the reason for oiling is to help trap dirt and big particles of grit that can be sucked up,so lightly oiling your filter has a function and should definitely be done.SJ.
