clutch mod, clutch delay valve ????
Ive bought a clutch braided hose. in america they are doing what they call the clutch mod, our uk master cylinder is some what different to theres.
ours have 2 pipes coming off the master cylinder which run off in to a maze of pipes. what i need to no is which pipe on ours can i blank and which one to use direct to the slave cylinder,
subaru did this to stop loading up the tranny ect (delay valve)
exeddy recommend to do this mod with there clutchs..
is a classic slave cylinder the same as a 04 sti 6 speed slave. ????

shock.. dropping the clutch for launching, there is a very slight delay with the standered setup. your only talking split second but if you change gear 4 times on a strip then removing this delay setup should make times a fraction better, plus its ment to give you a more consistent pedal. plus i can do away with the mile of piping to run the slave...

I was just wondering where the wonderful Americanism came from.
In drag speak, 'loading up the tranny' is what you do with a high stall converter on an automatic box when the car is staged.

You can't 'load up' a manual box. The biting point is the clutch, not the gearbox (tranny).

Unless you're Antron Brown you'll probably find you have far more to gain by improving your launch and driving technique in general than faffing around trying to save a few 100ths of a second on gear changes.

Suit yourself.
I thought I was being helpful.
I had no idea you were so proficient.
But then again I haven't run in the 9s for at least 20 years so I've obviously lost my touch

Classic and 6 speed ones are slightly different, but bolt up in the same way/place.,
To remove delay valve, you'll need to remove cylinder, undo large bolt/cap remove valve and spring then replace cap.

we dont have the cap on uk models, we have the setup above, no cap. we have 2 pipes coming out of our master cylinder. classic and newage 6sp slaves are the same, classic dont have all the crap on it like the newage (same as america) and also the classic has banjo fitment and newage has brake line male nut fitment.
i wonder if both the pipes coming out of the master cylinder have equal pressure and wouldent matter which one i use, be nice to rig up a dial to see if the pressures are different... im just going to try it both ways using the classic slave..
thanks for the positive input
