Default Indicator problem - blobeye

Can anybody shed some light on this little issue?

I parked my car and when I returned an hour later the passenger side front, rear and side repeater indicators were on solid (not flashing). I though that the fault would clear once I had started the engine but nothing I did would turn them off. The right side worked as normal but the left just stayed lit.
I drove home like this then had a poke around. Found a fuse in the box under the bonnet for hazards and horn so removed it and the lights went out and the indicators now function like they should but as soon as I put the fuse back in the left side indicators immediately light up again.

Any suggestions on what i should look at to fix this properly?

when you take the hazard light fuse out the problem disappears and the indicators are fully operational i would start with hazard light switch/ relay being faulty, it's difficult to give advice on electrical issues over the net I'm not sure of your electrical knowledge or use of multimeters

Thanks for the tip and it makes perfect sense. I will try unlugging the hazard light switch tomorrow if the rain ever stops and see if that makes a difference.

Try also the indicator relay, which may be sticking.

Dunno where it is on yours, but on classics it's high up under the dash, o/s.

Have you pressed the parking light switch on top of the steering column by accident? I think those lights turn on when pressed.

Parking light switch on column only does front and rear sidelights,
How did you get on sandman77 ?
I heard there was a sprinkling of snow in the central belt today

Thanks for all the advice. It has only just stopped raining here since this happened so I haven't had a chance to look at it yet.
One thing I have thought of though is the indicator lights all flash when the alarm is set or disabled with the key fob so this could be another thing to look at.

Definitely won't be anything to do with the alarm side on things for sure

Well yesterday morning I popped the hazard light fuse back in and all was well and has been since. I am guessing something got wet during the drive in the torrential rain and caused the problem and it has dried out now.
Anyway fingers crossed the problem doesn't return.
