Just had a speedo converter fitted to my V5 Typer (at the gearbox side) and pretty much after a couple of minutes the CEL came on.

Drives and idles fine. The CEL comes on and goes off then comes on again intermittently.

Rang the sparky that fitted the speedo convertor who said it cant be that. Is it just a concidence or has anyone else had similar issues?

I bought the speedo convertor from Ebay as a mate had used the same type for his bugeye jdm with no issues. The speedo works by the way.

So I just did a read of the codes by joining the black plugs that are located under the dash and I get error codes 22 and 24 which are 'Knock Sensor and Idle Control'.

Cars not been driven for about 5 weeks or so prior to today..! So guess I will have to order the bits and see how it goes.

 

I would do an ecu reset before spending money on parts that might not be needed

 

disconnect battery for a while..??
