ok so ive got a wrx 53 plate with sti top mount .pinks and vf24 turbo .its been mapped to around 320 ish .but just doesnt feel break your neck quick .i know its not mad power but ive had a classic sti 6 running more or less standard and thatput you in your seat a bit more than this does .dont get me wrong its fast up top but just feels a little boring .its my 4th impreza and ive had 4 evos over the years 1 of which was 380 with an 80 series on .so i was kind of hoping this would put a smile on my face .not as much as it should though
could it be the ristrictor pill is in the wrong place or the wrong size alltogether .i dont know what boost its hitting yet as ive not had too much time to fit it .will be doing this in a few days .also think my iacv needs cleaning so thats not helping me test things tbh .any help would be great cheers steve

he maybe mapped the boost to come in a little softer due to the car having a WRX 5 speed in it and they are known to die a little sooner than the 6 speeds so it might just be by design. Fire him an email/text/whatever and see if he has any thoughts on it first?

yea i will do thanks for the help .so would it be very short changes if mapped another way .i.e lower top speed and through the gears quite quickly?

uhm, i'm not sure quite what your asking me. You can limit the top speed in the map but most people leave it off. Top speed would be limited by peak horsepower and wouldn't really be impacted by how quickly the turbo spools up - you should be well on boost by the time your thinking about triple digit speeds?

right ive not yet been intouch with previous owner (mapped car himself) as i kinda want to learn whats going on .if i get 100% stuck ill contact him .right ive had the pill out and is right .think its 0.8mm ive also tried a 0.8 mig tip and works exactly same .ive fitted a boost gauge and im only hitting 0.5 bar at full boost .it holds all the way up the rev .i then disconnected the wastegate pipe to see if it would attempt max boost but nope hits 0.5 exactly the same .ive cleaned out the bcs i also disconnected the bcs and put 2 wires from it to batt terminals and it clicks only once when wire is touched then removed like its open and closing is that right or should it constant click .cheers steve
