Default Newbie...Blitz NUR Spec R Cat Back System

Hello All, having owned Outbacks for a few years I took the plunge very recently and purchased a 2006 WRX Wagon with PPP. A wonderful car which I am enjoying very much. I was very fortunate this Christmas as my grown up children clubbed together and purchased me a Bilitz NUR spec R Cat Back system, I have had the system fitted and bloody hell is it loud but is bearable with the removable baffle fitted, the question I am asking is the car okay to run with this baffle fitted all the time or will it cause problems? Without the removable baffle it is simply too loud for me. I have also found the baffle is vibrating on acceleration and slowing down, I have tried tightening the securing bolt when exhaust is cold and hot but still no joy and will have to speak to the exhaust supplier and ask for a replacement baffle.

I reckon I could be putting this exhaust up for sale on this site very soon, my sons love it but it's too much for me. Looks like I will be putting the Pro Drive back on. hahaha

Had a Nur Spec and the sounds epic although looking back now it was soooo loud..

You can cut the baffle tube down a few inches this will reduce the knocking sound, although will cause pressure so not advised to run all the time with it in

With the bung in your reducing power by about 20% or so, when i had mine, like you, agree it is too loud, its ok round town but over 30 or 40 mph the noise sounds crap, like an old cherry bomb system, i really dont see where the love of these systems comes from, there are much better out there, HKS are my favourite, not too noisy but just enough.

if i were you, replace with a system you like the sound of and it lets the car breath better

I used to love my Miltek system, not overly loud, didn't drone, well made and still popped and banged on the over run when hot. Each to there own though.

The rear box is very restrictive in my opinion on the milltek if you look through the back its like a peashooter :-(

That might be so but my old blob wrx made 346/340 on a vf34 running a full Miltek setup, which is not to bad.

As said, each to there own, just my opinion

Well been out this morning in the car and the Blitz R is definitely not for me so I will buy a different cat back system set up next week, get it swapped over and put the Blitz up for sale.

You could keep it and put a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator in the pipe. Will kill noise (and drone if you have any) by around 30%

Thanks for that, there are a couple of exhaust fabricators close to where I live so I will ask if they could install a Vibrant into the Blitz mid section. I presume I would need the 3 inch bottle type vibrant.
