Default torques teflon pipe fittings problem...

i have had the parets sat in the garage for a while so decided to get them fitted over the past few weeks along with my parallel fuel rails and swirl pot and 044

long story short and after a load of faffing about becauise fittings where hitting the turbo etc i managed to get it all hooked up and sealed today...or so i though...

2 out of 4 of the fittings are leaking from between the elbow and the teflon swivel and i was keen to know if anyone else had the same problem

the fittings in question are these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AN-6-AN6-9...USwtnXP_J4TctA

but because im now not keen on an o ring sealing on the swivel iv decided to swap to these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-AN6-STRA...item58acd90610

and these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-6AN-6-JI...item53ff9a3096

because i dont trust the swivel fittings now and like the idea of a mechanical interlock that i have used spanners to tighten up instead of an o ring

anyone have any input as to where i may have gone wrong or are the fitting just cack?

pretty disapointed cos iv had to bin 50 odd quids worth of fittings and spend another £62 getting it right

wish i just used stainless fittings now or barbed fittings and fuel pipe and jubilee clips

Not sure, but I had a simlar elbows and no leaks, main thing is to get the line upto the fitting as far as possible to as far to inside fitting edge, then screw other fitting on.

I used this type of kit fittings http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/360770579465

Its not leaking from where i have assembled

The fittings i have when assembled allow you to rotate the fitting so there is an o ring in the fitting

This is what is leaking

Mine are baggy

The ones iv ordered now seat onto the flare so once locked up there is a mechanical seal which il be happier about

Just annoyed that the fittings have failed and that iv caught them now

If i wasnt as paranoid inprob would not of noticed...just wiggled them a bit and noticed

Prrhaps the pressure helps them seat but im not happy with em so they are off

Didnt know if anyone else had experienced anything the same

If you contact them and tell them the problem I'm sure they will be more than happy to help you. They are great to deal with and shouldn't have a problem with any return/exchange

they said they will look at the fittings and probably refund

i just ddidnt know if anyone else had experienced the same and for 2 out of 4 to leak doesnt inspire the best confidence in that particular type???

The straight fittings are fine

All the crimping/swaging iv done is fine

The fault iv had lies with the actual fitting

On the elbows they are swivel fittings and im leaking fuel from the swivel due to a seal failure within the joint hence the fact im swapping all my fittings to straights and making the elbows out of rigid fittings so there are no seals to leak in future
