Default Guys guys guys....clutch won't disengage.

So now I got it started after the immobiliser issue I can't drive it. So I can select all gears while the engine is off but when the engine is running if I select first and try to start the engine with the clutch pressed to the floor it try's to start in gear. The clutch feels nice and stiff so in guessing that the clutch is seized this car is killing me now and the weather makes everything twice as difficult. Anybody got and suggestions as I have never herd of this happening before....

Just start it up in gear - should be enough to disengage the clutch plate away from the flywheel.

Mick
Well I havent got the space to fully start it and run it as its awkwardly parked on the drive but I did put it into gear with the clutch pressed and try to start it hoping that it would free it off but no ....I checked the slave cylinder if that's what it's called (thing on top of the gearbox that operates the clutch) and it's working fine so it looks like the clutch has welded its self to the flywheel. I can feel it I'm going to have to pull the motor out

Well that's a possibility but I don't see what this would achieve as it will just start and run with little resistance. I would of thought the driving it on the starter motor would of put it under stress. I'm willing to try anything before I pull it out.

Solved, so I took the advice and put it on axle stands then took it in turns starting it in differant gears. It put up a fight and didn't want to budge but when I put into sixth it freed up. So I'm happy ....well just gotta sort out a exhaust leak now.
