Default Polishing engine covers

Hi ive got a couple of engine covers, spray bottle, battery cover etc which have gone past just a hand polish with something like auto sole.

Any methods, ideas i could get them shiny again?? I did try a buffing/polish wheel on my drill but still left them flat looking.

Like this type of shiny used a metal polish and a mop on a drill, takes ages to do, used water with the Polish to get the final finish
