Default Power Steering pump issue

Hi all, please can someone help or advise on my issue ASAP.

I own a Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type UK Prodrive on a 2002 plate ("Bug-eye").

I am having some mechanical issues with (I think!) my power steering pump. On a cold start, it makes a high pitch whining noise and sounds gravelly. The steering judders too. After the car is warm (10mins+), there is no issue.

I've researched this as best as possible, a lot of people are advising to check the "o-ring" on the pump before I consider replacing the pump. I cannot locate the "o-ring" on this pump. It seems to be a unique design for this model, all the vids on youtube and pics on the internet show 2004 models onwards. I cannot find any reference to a 2002 STi...

Does my model have an "o-ring" on the PS pump and if so, where the hell is it??

I've also replaced the drive belts and checked the clamps on the PS pump. No loss of fluid and I can't see any bubbles in the fluid.

Any advice or help ASAP would be most appreciated, thanks.
